Caroline 'Kay' K. Watts

Caroline Kathryn Watts, 84, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Michael Erpelding presiding. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Salix , Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a parish vigil at 7 p.m., at Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Caroline was born April 3, 1928, in Lincoln Township, Knox County, Neb., to William and Augusta (Studeny) Klemish. She attended St. Ludger Elementary School in Creighton, Neb., and graduated from St. Joseph High School in Salix, Iowa .
She married Robert Watts on Jan. 31, 1948, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix, Iowa. Robert died Aug. 18, 1998. Caroline was employed at St Joseph Hospital, Soo Foods and The Flamingo Restaurant. She worked at IBP for 25 years, retiring in 1990.
Caroline was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, St. Boniface Rosary Society, Western Iowa Rabbit Breeders Assoc. and UFCW Local 222.
Caroline was a wonderful wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma. She was a very religious person. She attended Mass whenever possible and enjoyed EWTN. She loved crossword puzzles, “Family Fun Night” and the monthly retirees’ potluck dinner of her union.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Bob and Edna of Sioux City, and Bill and Mary of North Sioux City; a daughter and her husband, Rita and Wayne Merrill of Sioux City; 11 grandchildren, Lisa (Troy) Haldin, Mindi Lofflin and her fiance John Weeks, Julie (Tom) Foxhoven, Jason (Kayla) Merrill, Greg Merrill, Christine (Adam) Croghan, Bill (Carrie) Watts, Jen (Roger) Schoenherr, Rob Watts, Danielle Knight, Dan (Katy) Knight;15 great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Bailey, Sidney, Braxton, Austin, Gavin, Mark (Mac), Quinn, Noah, Shaw, Audra, Dalen, Allison, Natalee and Julian; a sister-in-law, Marlene Klemish; and many nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, David; her twin sister and her husband, Mary and Everist Hansen; a brother, William Klemish; and an infant brother.
