Catherine A. Lennon, 83, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at her residence, under Hospice care, following a lengthy illness.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the Rev. Merlin J. Schrad and Monsignor Roger J. Augustine officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 6 to 8 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at Larkin Northside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Catherine was born Aug. 6, 1925, in Sioux City, the daughter of Frederick P. and Reta E. (Miller) Sulzbach. She graduated from Central High School in 1943.
She married Fred S. Lennon on July 5, 1943. She lived most of her life in Sioux City. She was a homemaker and housewife.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Fred S. Lennon of Sioux City; nine sons and their wives, Dan and Eve Lennon, Tim and Lisa Lennon, Kevin Lennon, John and Kip Lennon, Charlie and Theresa Lennon, Mike and Connie Lennon, Dr. Kelly and Teresa Lennon, Mark and Miez Lennon and Terry Lennon; two daughters and their husbands, Catherine and Tom Frisch and Deborah Lennon-Pottorf and Jerry Pottorf; 28 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother and his wife, Dick and Fran Sulzbach.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Fred Jr.; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Don and Gloria Sulzbach and Bob Sulzbach.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Blessed Sacrament or Hospice of Siouxland.
