Charlene H. Anderson, 89, of Sioux City passed away Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Whiting, Iowa, with the Rev. Reva Karstens officiating. Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Charlene was born on Jan. 9, 1926, in Whiting, Iowa, to Glen and Millie (Huff) Hall. Charlene lived and attended school at Whiting until 1944, when she moved to Sioux City. She was employed by New York Life Insurance and Union Central Life until 1980.
Charlene married Edwin L. Anderson on July 16, 1955, in Whiting.
She was a member of the U.C.C. First Congregational Church in Sioux City, where she sang in the choir for more than 20 years. She was also a member of the Sioux City Women's Club chorus and the American Legion Auxiliary Emery Johnson Post in Whiting for many years.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews; and grandnieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sister, Mavis Willey; and brothers, Dallas, Dennis, Leo, Lyle and Keith Hall.
