Charles B. Barnes

Sioux City - Charles B. Barnes, 64, of Sioux City, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at his home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ralph Shorey officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
Charles was born March 5, 1948, in Sioux City, the son of Charles K. and Minnie (Sproatt) Barnes.
He married Ruth Hernandez on June 17, 1967, in Chicago. They were married for more than 45 years.
Charles worked as a machinist in Chicago and the Sioux City area.
He enjoyed being outside working in the garden and going to the zoo. Charles was a practical joker who enjoyed a good laugh. He was a good husband and loving father.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Barnes of Sioux City; his sons, Charles Henry Barnes and Matthew Lee Barnes, both of Sioux City; his daughter, Christina Michelle (Payman Hafezi), of Sioux City; his sisters, Patricia (Don) Scott and Linda Cumpton, all of Sioux City; and his brother, Kenneth (Sharon) Barnes of Elk Grove, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
