Charles Edgar "Chuck" Storm

Sioux City - Charles "Chuck" Edgar Storm, 84, of Sioux City died Sept. 18, 2013, at a local nursing home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Morningside Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Paul Andell officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Public visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Chuck was born on Nov. 21, 1928, in Sioux City, to Charles and Jennie (Nickerson) Storm. He grew up in Sioux City until the age of 14, when he moved to Linn Grove, Iowa, and was raised by his foster parents, Earl and Elsie Anderson. He graduated from Linn Grove High School in 1946.
Chuck married Rachel A. Hanson on June 28, 1947, at Sioux Rapids, Iowa. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1952. Chuck worked as a carpenter at W.A. Klinger Company for 52 years.
He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union Local 948. He loved to spend time with his family and he loved to travel. Chuck was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church and served on the church council, as an usher, and belonged to various men’s groups at the church.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Rachel Storm of Sioux City; son, Larry and Beth Storm of Sioux City and their two children, Stephanie and Jason Robertson and their son, Beck, and Alison and Tim Lowry and their son, Sam; son, David and Sarah Storm of Sioux City and their four children, Mark and Melissa Storm and their son, Max, Leah and Nick Book and their daughter, Ella, Andrew and Lacey Storm and their two sons, Ryder and Jaxon, and Anna and Brad Lindgren and their son, Dillon; daughter, Tammy Carter of Sioux City and her three children, Matthew and Brandi Minter and their three children, Helena, Kerah and Elijah, Drake Carter and Grace Carter; daughter, Jennifer Meredith of Sioux City and her son, Isaac Johnson; foster brother, Ronald and Elaine Anderson of Sioux City; and foster sister, June Booth of Tracy, Minn.
Preceding him in death are his parents; foster parents; daughter, Laurie Hechtner; sister, Darlene Lovell; foster brother, Leonard Anderson; foster sister, Irene Anderson; three half sisters; and one half brother.
