North Sioux City - Charles C. "Charlie" Moriston, 84, of North Sioux passed away May 8, 2014 at his residence.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Charlie was born Jan. 13, 1930, in Stevens, S.D., to Charles W. and Emily L. (Kincaid) Moriston. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He married Esther (Marsell) on July 21, 1951, in Laverne Minn. He worked at Armour Packing and worked as a roofer.
Charlie was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was the kind of guy who knew someone wherever he went and he never met a stranger. Charlie’s body will be donated to USD Medical School.
Survivors include his wife, Esther Moriston; daughters, Vickie Lynn and David Tilden, Mona Kay Brice and Jodi Rae and Ron Brown; son, Michael Dean Moriston; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Emily Louise Fender.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons; a daughter; a grandson; five brothers; and three sisters.
