Cheryl A. Pease

Cheryl A. “Shari” Pease, 73, of Abilene passed away on February 24, 2025, at Memorial Health System Hospital in Abilene, Kansas. Memorial Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel (1801 Morningside Ave.) with a visitation taking place one hour prior. Burial will be at Sioux City’s Graceland Park Cemetery.

Shari was born on September 16, 1951, in Tucson, Arizona, to Joseph B. Hummel and Margaret J. LaCroix. She attended Central School in Sioux City and moved on to Stewarts School of Hairstyling. On September 30, 1969, Shari married the love of her life Tom Pease. The two shared 45 years of marriage that will be adored for generations to come. Sadly, Tom passed away December 16, 2014. They shared the majority of their marriage in Sioux City. After his passing, Shari moved south to spend time with her daughter, Shiloh, and grandkids in Abilene, Kansas.

Shari loved spending time and chatting with family and friends. Her favorite pastimes included fishing and breaking out video games to lure the grandkids into numerous hours of joy and entertainment. She liked her ceramics, coloring, and challenging herself with puzzle games. Her passion involved anything outside, and she was not afraid to get her hands dirty or “getting into trouble.” You can bet she would always have a glass of fresh sun tea available to welcome a SHORT break in the action.

Shari enjoyed working and managing in retail sales. Her retail experiences included Riverside Drug Store, James Drug in SSC, Dollar General, and Hy-Vee. After retirement from Hy-Vee, she continued to do volunteer work at a local Mill outside Enterprise, Kansas, and supporting a local Animal Shelter in Abilene.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Amy and Shiloh; son, Dan; 9 Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandson; brother, Mike LaCroix; and sister, Diane Larson. She was preceded in death by brother, Bob, and her parents.
