Chris E. Jorgenson, 59, of Sioux City, passed away Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Chris was born on May 13, 1956, in Sioux City, to Warren and Mary Lou (Seger) Jorgenson.
He was united in marriage to Jisele Jenness on Aug. 29, 2007, in Elk Point, S.D. Chris worked at John Morrell for many years as a boiler engineer and was currently working at Mercy Medical Center.
Chris was a strong silent type of man. He had four passions in life, which were Jisele, his cats, his guns, and his bikes. Chris was a hard worker all of his life. He was a great husband, father, brother, and grandpa. He loved spending time with Jisele and his cats. When he was not at work, he was at home messing with his guns, motorcycles, drones, cats, and especially Jisele. Chris will be greatly missed by all and will never be forgotten.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Jisele of Sioux City; children, Michelle (Justin) Fortin of Sioux Falls, S.D., Patricia (Neil) Pope of Shelby, Iowa, Audrey (Marney) Benedix of Sioux City, and David Benedix of Appleton, Wis.; siblings, Dana (Nancy) Jorgenson of Sioux City, Kory Shearer of Colorado, and Susan Smith, Washington; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Mark.
