Christine Top, 43, of Akron, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Heartland Community Baptist Church in Sioux City. Interment will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Chris was born on March 8, 1973, in Cherokee, Iowa to Alan and Regina (Lenz) Mills. She was united in marriage to Jason Top on Oct. 8, 2003. He preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 2015. Chris was currently working at Perry Creek Animal Hospital, where she had worked as an office supervisor for the last 16 years. She also worked as a receptionist at Siouxland Press in Orange City, Iowa, the front desk at Chiropractic Associates of Siouxland, and as a receptionist at Schiebout Window and Door.
She was a member of Heartland Community Baptist Church and taught Sunday School to preschoolers. Chris loved animals, fishing, gardening, watching wrestling, and especially her son, Cole. Chris was deeply loved by her entire family and will be missed.
Those left to honor her memory include her son, Cole Mills of Adaville, Iowa; parents, Alan and Regina Mills of Sutherland, Iowa; brother, David (Cindy Bretz) Mills of Sutherland; sister-in-law, Jodi Top of Littleton, Colo.; nephew, Wesley Mills of Sheldon, Iowa; and mother-in-law and stepfather-in-law, Bob and Arlene Feekes of Orange City.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jason; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Adrenal Diseases Foundation.
