SIOUX CITY - Cinda Damrau-Humpal, 56, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Sioux City. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to

Cinda was born on April 1, 1956, in Sioux City, to Leonard and Geraldine (Peterson) Damrau. She was a nurse for more than 30 years and assisted many people in their healing process.
She was a devoted mother and a selfless caretaker. She enjoyed singing, dancing, and celebrating life. Cinda loved seeing the United States from the vantage point of a motorcycle. She considered it true freedom, the wind in her hair and the sun on her face.
Survivors include a son, Harry Plendl; a brother, James Damreau; sisters, Susie Damrau and Lisa (Damrau) Kraml; a special friend, Kristie Sloan; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Lyle Corll, a daughter, Jolene Damrau-Plendl; her husband, Robert Humpal; a cousin, Riley Damrau; and a brother, Ronald Damrau.
