SIOUX CITY - Cinda Damrau-Humpal, 56, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Sioux City. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.christysmith.com .
Cinda was born on April 1, 1956, in Sioux City, to Leonard and Geraldine (Peterson) Damrau. She was a nurse for more than 30 years and assisted many people in their healing process.
She was a devoted mother and a selfless caretaker. She enjoyed singing, dancing, and celebrating life. Cinda loved seeing the United States from the vantage point of a motorcycle. She considered it true freedom, the wind in her hair and the sun on her face.
Survivors include a son, Harry Plendl; a brother, James Damreau; sisters, Susie Damrau and Lisa (Damrau) Kraml; a special friend, Kristie Sloan; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Lyle Corll, a daughter, Jolene Damrau-Plendl; her husband, Robert Humpal; a cousin, Riley Damrau; and a brother, Ronald Damrau.
