MOVILLE, Iowa -- Clara Ella Rumohr, 82, of Moville died Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Kingsley Nursing & Rehab Center in Kingsley, Iowa.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Barb Spaulding officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to the time of service Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes in Moville.
Clara was born Jan. 7, 1930, at Moville, Iowa, the daughter of Lewis and Minnie (Jahn) Sargent. She attended school and graduated from Moville High School in 1947. After graduation, Clara worked at First Trust and Savings.
She married Wayne Rumohr on Dec. 3, 1950, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville. She then worked for W.L. Sanborn Company as a bookkeeper. Clara took time away to raise her children and be a homemaker. She later worked for Toy National Bank, Phil Cohn Grocery, at the service desk at Kmart, Waitt Cattle Company and finally for Motel 6. Together, Clara and Wayne farmed until retiring in 1986. Wayne died May 21, 2001.
Clara was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville and the Senior Center. She enjoyed cross-stitching, knitting, crocheting, quilting, needlework and decoupage. Clara had been a past member of the Federated Church for 20 years and had taught Sunday school.
Survivors include four sons, Ronald Rumohr of Advance, Mo., Dennis and Julie Rumohr of Moville, Scott Rumohr of Moville, and Roger Rumohr of Glenwood, Iowa; one daughter, Cindy and Mark Coyne of Moville; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, George Sargent of Anthon, Iowa; and a sister, Mary Lou Tabke of Moville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne; great-grandson, Trace Klundel; and sister, Louise Medcalf.
