Clark E. Lewis, 69, of Sergeant Bluff, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at a local hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Roger Madden officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the chapel.
Clark was born in Sioux City on April 28, 1948, the son of Edward and Viola (Heuertz) Lewis. He attended St. Boniface Grade School and then graduated from Bishop Heelan High School with the class of 1967. After his graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he proudly served his country doing two tours of duty during the Vietnam War.
He made his home in Sioux City for many years before moving to Sergeant Bluff five years ago. Clark was one of the founding fathers of Tae Kwon Do in Sioux City; he taught classes at Kim’s Martial Arts for many years and also served as a private instructor.
His life will always be remembered by his family, which includes his son, Sage Lewis and his wife, Angie of Sergeant Bluff; his two grandchildren, John and Jenna Lewis; and his three brothers, Jay Lewis of Gothenburg, Neb., Douglas Lewis of Sioux City and Steven Lewis of Denver, Colo.
Clark was preceded in death by his parents.
