Clifford LeRoy Zimmerman, 86, of Sioux City, Iowa died on Thursday, October 29, 2015, at Sunrise Retirement Community in Sioux City, Iowa.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, at Morningside Presbyterian Church located at 4327 Morningside Ave. Sioux City, Iowa 51106. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, Iowa.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the family present 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2015, at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Ave., Sioux City, Iowa.

Cliff was born July 27, 1929 in Sac City, Iowa, to Herbert and Marie (Barlow) Zimmerman. He grew up and attended school in Sac City. In 1947, he entered in the US Army and served two tours, including time in Korea. After being discharged from the Army, he entered the US Air Force and served 20 years. During that time, he married Sharon Montgomery on July 12, 1958 in Sioux City, Cliff was stationed all over the world during his career. He retired in 1970 from the US Air Force Base, in Wiesbaden, Germany before returning to Sioux City. Cliff went to work for Temptrol Heating and Air Conditioning for a number of years.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and his grandchildren and family functions.
He was a long time member of Morningside Presbyterian Church, where he served as an usher, member of the men's club and a regular volunteer when something needed to be done at the church.
Surviving are son, Robert & Sharon Zimmerman of Edmond, OK, daughter, Lisa & Dwight Kroger of Sioux City, IA; 4 grandchildren, Brittany, Bobby, Garrett and Allison. 2 sisters, Beulah and Wesley Cole of Sac City, Ruth and Jim Mason of Sac City; brothers, John and Sandy Zimmerman, Earl and Karon Zimmerman, Chuck and Joan Zimmerman and Ted and Alice Zimmerman, all of Sac City, IA; sister-in-law, Sharon Pearson of Sac City, brother-in-law, Harlan Shady of Sac City, IA and Dennis Strodtman of Joliet, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sharon, 11 brothers and sisters Don, Pearl, Robert, Jim, Florence, Kenneth, Jack, Lois, Mary, William and June.
