SIOUX CITY -- Connie Mae Roupe, 70, of Sioux City died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, at her residence.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Riverside Lutheran Church. Graveside services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Connie was born July 17, 1940, in Onawa, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Clara (Trobaugh) Hill. She attended Sioux City Community Schools, later earning her general education diploma.
Connie married Ronald Roupe on July 19, 1963, in South Sioux City. They made their home in Sioux City, where she worked as a bookkeeper for H&R Block for several years.
She taught herself to sew and made her daughter's wedding dresses. Connie and Ronald also raised a foster daughter, Lisa Miller, who later married Tim Rath.
She was a member of Riverside Lutheran Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed retirement and riding motorcycles with her husband. She also enjoyed sewing, reading, jigsaw and word book puzzles and gambling at the boat and Winn-A-Vegas.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald Roupe; three daughters, Kim and Greg Sands, Mickey and Kem Juracek and LeAnn Graves, all of Sioux City; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Stanley and Judy Hill of Aurora, Colo., and Dennis Hill of Lawton, Okla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Michael Hill.
