Craig Anthony Nolen, 65, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away peacefully on August 29th, 2021, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Craig grew up in Sioux City before leaving to serve in the U.S. Army in Thailand during the Vietnam Era. After serving, he moved to California where he met his wife and soulmate Janice. They were married in Carson City, Nevada, on August 13, 1977. Craig re-enlisted in the Army, and they traveled with their two children, Scott & Sherry, to Fort Meade, Maryland, Okinawa, Japan, and Fort Hood, Texas before returning to Sioux City in 1983.
He started working for American Popcorn and retired 33 years later in 2015 due to illness. Craig lived a full life. Craig loved to spend time with his dogs: Chassis, Sadie, Hannah and Dakota. He loved to golf, camp, fish and was an avid football fan. He loved the Hawkeyes, his Bud Light, his Fireball and Skoal. Craig will be dearly missed and remembered for being the best husband, father, grandfather, and friend who always put others before himself.
Craig was blessed with his wife of 44 years, two children, eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Janice Nolen; children, Scott & Kim Nolen; grandchildren, Shayla & Corey Becker; great-grandchildren, Treyton, Addaleigha, Hanley, and Cameron Becker; grandchildren Brittanie & Jon Holcomb; great-grandchildren, Jaycee Holcomb; and grandchildren, Ella Nolen, Madalyn Nolen and Alec Nolen. Children; Sherry & Scott Schluchter; grandchild, Brooke Schlehuber; great-grandchildren, August & Charlie Schluchter; grandchildren, Nolan and Taylor Schluchter. Siblings, Phil & Bonnie Nolen, Sue Nolen, Mary & Jerry Schubauer, and Jeff & Susan Nolen. Preceded in death by his parents Donald & Darlene Nolen.
