Cynthia Rae "Cindy" Munger, 64, of Sioux City passed away on Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a sharing of memories service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Cindy was born on Feb. 28, 1950, in Sioux City. She was the daughter of Gene and Joan (Camarigg) McNaughton. Cindy was a lifelong resident of Sioux City. She attended East High and graduated from Western Iowa Tech nursing school in 1997. Cindy worked at Gateway for many years and later for Tri-State Nursing. She had been working at Mercy Medical Center for the past 13 years.
Cindy loved her outings with her mother to the area casinos, but what she loved most was spending time with her children, grandchildren and her family. She would never miss a grandchild’s ballgame if humanly possible.
She is survived by her three children, Terri Harper of Sioux City, Ronnie Simmons and his significant other, Becky Condon of Sioux City, and Jill and Marc Obbink of Sergeant Bluff; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her parents, Gene and Joan McNaughton of Sioux City; four sisters, Susan (Kevin) Rentel, Debra McNaughton, Lori McNaughton and Tina McNaughton, all of Sioux City; her brother, Gene "Buddy" and Brenda McNaughton of Orange County, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Eric.
