Dale R. Dice, 92, of Sergeant Bluff died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, at a Sioux City hospital.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes.
Dale was born March 3, 1923, in Anthon, Iowa, the son of Homer and Beulah (Hatfield) Dice. He joined the U.S. Army in January of 1943.
Dale married Jeanne Groux on Oct. 20, 1945, in Brussels, Belgium, while serving during World War II. He was honorably discharged in January of 1946. The couple returned to the United States and made their home in Correctionville, Iowa, for a few years before moving to Sioux City, and finally to Sergeant Bluff, where they lived together for over 35 years. Jeanne died Oct. 26, 2004. Dale farmed and worked as a government meat inspector for the Department of Agriculture.
He was a Mason and a member of the American Legion, George Nelson Post 662 in Sergeant Bluff.
Dale is survived by his son, Eugene (Kathy Reynolds) Dice Sr.; two daughters, Vivian (Earl) Butler and Kathy (David) Robley; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeanne; and brother, Rex.
