Dallas V. Rider, 66, of Sioux City died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, at his residence.
A celebration of life service will be 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Christy-Smith Family Resource Center, 1818 Morningside Ave., in Sioux City.
Dallas was born on Thursday, Sept. 2, 1948, in Hawthorne, Calif., the son of Virgil Rider and Bernice Hinz Rider. Dallas came to Sioux City as a child and graduated from East High School in 1966. He later joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served for two years. Dallas was an electrician. He worked for IBP and for the Sioux City Iron Works, retiring in 1995.
Dallas loved fishing, hunting and trapping and was also an avid reader.
Surviving are his mother, Bernice Rider of Westfield, Iowa; his two daughters, Sherri Rider of Sioux City, and Lori Bogenreif of Sioux City; his brothers, Donald Rider of South Sioux City, Dennis Rider of Sioux City, and David Rider of Westfield; sisters, Dallene White of Westfield, and Donna Rider of Westfield; and six grandchildren.
