Daniel Joseph Shoop

Daniel Joseph Shoop, age 77, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022, in Sioux City.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2022, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Mater Dei Parish. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Daniel Joseph Shoop, the son of Joseph and Mildred Shoop was born August 12, 1945, in Sioux City. He graduated from Bishop Heelan in 1963. He then graduated from Loras College in 1967 with a teaching degree.
Daniel began teaching Le Mars and Omaha. He attained his master’s degree from Creighton and became the assistant principal at South Sioux City High School for 27 years.
Daniel enjoyed traveling to Colorado and Europe in the summertime. He also had many friends in the Amish community, he enjoyed the simple things in life. His true passion was his horses.
He is survived by his sisters, Loretta Dahlberg, Lynette (Gary) Jones; 3 nephews, Randy (Julie) Dahlberg, David (Gina) Dahlberg, Marc (Alisa) Dahlberg; 1 niece, Jennifer (Ben) Feeney; 3 great nieces and nephew, Dayton and Taylor Dahlberg, Sloan and Isla Feeney.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Stan and Brian Shoop.
