Dr. Darrell D. Thorp

Dr. Darrell D. Thorp, 62, of Sioux City died on Friday, March 27, 2015, at a Sioux City hospital.
Visitation with family will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Darrell was born on March 16, 1953, in Sioux City. He was the son of Raymond and Mary (Bauerly) Thorp. He was raised in Sioux City and graduated from Leeds High School.
Darrell then attended the Palmer Chiropractic School and graduated from there in 1976. He had practices in Wisner, Wayne and South Sioux City, Neb. He retired due to poor health.
Darrell enjoyed scuba diving and playing poker -- he loved cards of all kinds -- but what he enjoyed most was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by two daughters, Angela Thorp of Sioux City, and Mary (Shanon) McDonald of Onawa, Iowa; two grandchildren, Zachary and Jacik; his father, Raymond Thorp and Lila of Sioux City; and three sisters, Diana Franken of Sioux City, Marilyn (Bill) Rasmussen of Sioux City, and Karen (Steve) Iseminger of Dexter, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and a granddaughter, Hannah Stier
