HINTON, Iowa -- David J. Hunt, 55, of Hinton died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010, at his residence.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sunnybrook Community Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Sam Todd officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Sioux City. Condolences may be sent online to

David James Hunt was born July 6, 1955, in Chicago, Ill., to James and Marion (Ruble) Hunt (both now deceased). Dave attended Gage Park High School in Chicago. He earned an associate's degree from Iowa Lakes Community College.
David married Kathy (Bollmeyer) on March 5, 2010, in Sioux City. Dave worked as a substance abuse counselor at the Native American Indian Treatment Center and later at Lite Form. He owned and operated Chicago Style Hot Dogs at the mall, but his passion was performing sleight-of-hand magic. One of the highlights of his career was performing at the Boca Raton Resort in Florida. Dave was also an avid fisherman and a near-professional drummer.
Dave is survived by his wife, Kathy of Hinton; Dave's children, Lisa, Jim and Aaron Hunt and Lera Tuskey; Dave's grandchildren, Eric, Conner and Lily; Kathy's children, Jamie Schoenherr (Sarah), Shannon (Jake Hite) and Sara (Alan Flanders); nine grandchildren; and his mother and father-in-law, Eldo and Midge Bollmeyer. Dave is also survived by his sister, Karen Brabec; nephews Gary and Brian Myers; and other close family members, Kieth Kryworuchenko, Gina and Julia Salnis, Joe, Lori and Becky Brabec and Jean Cavanaugh.
