David M. Foreshoe, 79, of Sioux City passed away Aug 26, 2022, at a local hospital.
Funeral service will be held 10: 30 AM on Friday Sept 2, 2022, at Grace United Methodist Church (located at 1735 Morningside Ave) with Pastor John Christianson officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Visitation will be on Thursday Sept 1, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM followed by a prayer service at 7:00PM at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes Morningside Chapel (located at 1801 Morningside Ave)

David was born on November 24th, 1942, to Ruth Beverly Dunn Foreshoe and her husband Paul Milton Foreshoe on the family farm in Dakota City, NE. He attended South Sioux High School and Milford Technical School. He served in the United States Navy for four years during the Vietnam War. He was on the USS Mispillion. After returning home he worked for IPS and Mid-American Energy.
He married DeLyn Dean on Oct 4th, 1969; three children were born to them. Danelle Lyn, Dawn Lee, and Douglas Milton.
David enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with family camping, hunting, and fishing. He served as a church board member, a Boy Scout Leader, Commander of the American Legion Post 376 in Dakota City, NE, and is a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife DeLyn, his daughter Danelle Sample, daughter Dawn (Doug) Welicky and son Douglas (Jessica) Foreshoe. 6 Grand Children, Dustin & Elizabeth Sample, Alexander and Nicholas Welicky, and Lillian and Genevieve Foreshoe. Two sisters Beverly (Maurice) Smith, and Susan (Ronald) Beeck. Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ruth and Paul Foreshoe, his grandparents, Milton and Emmeline Foreshoe, and his grandson Charles Milton Foreshoe.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorials be directed to the American Legion Post 376 of Dakota City, NE.
