David Eugene Hintz, 57, of Plainview, Neb., formerly of Sioux City, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015, at his home.
Visitation with the family will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Moville, Iowa.
David was born on July 7, 1957, in Sioux City. He was the son of LeRoy and Wanda (Bordwell) Hintz. He was raised in Lawton, Iowa, and graduated from Lawton High School. While in high school, he played football and was on the wrestling team. After he graduated he joined the United States Marine Corps. After the service he lived in several locations, including Sioux City, Webster City and most recently lived in Plainview.
He is survived by his children, Samantha Hintz and Joshua Hintz; his wife, Pamela; stepchildren, Cheyenne and Gabriel; sister, Leann (David) Schemmel of Moville; and brothers, Donald Hintz of Moville, and Gene (Debbie) Cooke of Volin, S.D.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Dustin Hintz; his stepson, Cade; and his brother, Dean Cooke.
