SIOUX CITY -- Delmer D. Jenkins, 75, of Sioux City passed away Jan. 12, 2011, at his residence.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Wolff of Riverside Lutheran Church officiating.
Delmer was born May 12, 1936, in Rosalie, Neb. He grew up and attended school in Winnebago, Neb. He graduated from Winnebago High School in 1954. He later moved to the Brown's Lake area, where he resided for 23 years. He later moved to Sioux City in 1997 and had been a residence here ever since.
He served in the U.S. Army from March 1958 to March 1960. He was employed with the Sioux City Stockyards for 21 years.
His hobbies and activities included hunting, fishing, being a member of the Boys of 68, the North American Hunting Club, playing cards and drinking beer.
Survivors include Elaine and Steve Rasmussen of Sioux City, Marie Thompkins and Denny Warren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, LaVaine (Thompkins) and Curly Blank.
