SIOUX CITY -- Delores N. "Dee" McKewon, 87, of Sioux City died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at her home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Riverside United Methodist Church. The Rev. Tanya Sherrill will officiate. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Dee was born June 16, 1923, in Sioux City, the daughter of Sylvester and Nettie (Comstock) Grenier. She was a lifelong resident of Sioux City. She attended Central High School.
On June 16,1940, she married Donald McKewon in Sioux City. Donald died on Oct. 15, 1979.
Dee was a longtime member of Riverside United Methodist Church. Dee and Donald loved to go dancing, roller-skating and ice-skating. She also taught tap dancing. Family was the most important part of her life and she truly loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Ron and Bonnie of Sioux City, Lyle and Tanya of Omaha, Vicky and Jim Rhymer of Sioux City, Pam and Mike Lillie of Sioux City, Colette and Vince Coughlin of Sioux City; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; her sister, Lila Landers of Sioux City; her brother and wife, Lyle and RoseMary Grenier of Sioux City; brother, Fred of Sioux City; and brother-in-law, Dean Johnson of Moville, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and sister, Nancy Johnson.
