SIOUX CITY -- Delores Darlene Selich, 82, Sioux City died Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. David Cox officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy Smith Funeral Home.
Delores was born May 27, 1929, in Sioux City, the daughter of William and Elsie (Coan) Mangold. She was raised in Sioux City and attended Central High School.
She married Donald Gude in Worthington, Minn. in 1950. They made their home in Sioux City, where she worked for Swift & Co. Delores married Frank Selich on April 19, 1960, in El Centro, Calif. The couple made their home in Phoenix, Ariz. While living there, she worked for the Motorola Co. and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. Frank died in November 1999 in Phoenix. Delores lived in Phoenix until eight years ago when she returned to Sioux City.
She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, cooking and she loved nature, watching birds and squirrels from the sun porch at her home.
She is survived by a son and his wife, Douglas and Christine Gude of South Sioux City; a granddaughter and her husband, Lisa and Todd Kron and their three children, Robert, Brandon, and Ella; granddaughter, Anna Gude; grandson, Michael Gude; sister-in-law, Mary Spisak of Phoenix; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Ida Lamont; and three brothers, Lloyd, Lewis and Edward Mangold.
