Denise 'Betty' Gapp

Denise J. "Betty" Gapp, 87, of Sioux City passed away Sept. 26, 2013 at Touchstone Living Center.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. James Pointer of Sioux City Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
She was born Feb. 6, 1926, in Cherokee County, Iowa, to Maine and Aleta (Koehne) Olson. Betty worked in several restaurants in Cherokee before moving to Sioux City in 1963.
She married Robert Gapp in 1945. He died in July of 1996. Betty was a member of Rustin Avenue Methodist Church and enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, bowling, handiwork and puzzles.
Survivors include sisters, Virginia French, Judy Stoneking and Sharon and Dean Mahon; as well as several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; and brother, Phillip.
