Dennis Lundquist, 72, lifelong resident of Sioux City, Iowa passed away peacefully on Monday, August 14, 2023, at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel located at 1801 Morningside Ave. Sioux City, Iowa 51106 with the Rev Robert Zellmer officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, IA.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Ave., Sioux City, Iowa.

Dennis was born April 30, 1951, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Everett and Sena (Twite) Lundquist. He grew up in Sioux City, attended Sioux City Community Schools and graduated from Central High School. He attended Western Iowa Tech and earned an associate degree in auto body repair. Dennis married Roberta Mae Sanow on July 27, 1970, in Elk Point, SD. The couple raised four children: Leslie, Melissa, Danny, and Ricky.
Dennis worked for Sioux Tools, he owned a repair shop and later for All Power Inc., retiring in 2011. Dennis was a dirt-track racer starting in the 1970’s and retired in the early 2000’s from racing. He loved racing and being a part of the racing community. In retirement he was known as the "supervisor". He would offer his advice, build parts, but did not want to work on the cars anymore. He loved to watch and help his kids and grandkids with their dirt-track cars. He loved spending time with family and friends.
He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church.
Surviving are sons, Leslie (Deb) Lundquist of Sioux City, IA, Danny (Tina) Lundquist and Ricky (Jamie) Lundquist, daughter, Melissa (Jeff) Wooldridge; twenty-three grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren, a brother Darrell Lundquist, several nieces, and nephews along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Roberta, one infant twin daughter, two sisters Mary Ann Wilson and Mae Kilker, and a sister in-law Evelyn Lundquist.
Surviving are sons, Leslie (Deb) Lundquist of Sioux City, IA, Danny (Tina) Lundquist and Ricky (Jamie) Lundquist, daughter, Melissa (Jeff) Woolridge; nineteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren. a brother Darrell Lundquist, several nieces, and nephews along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Roberta, two sisters Mary Ann Wilson and Mae Kilker, a sister in-law Evelyn Lundquist.
