Dennis H. Weaver, 73, of Moville died Sunday, May 22, 2016, at his home.
A celebration of life service will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Moville Community Center. Arrangements are under the direction of McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Moville.
Dennis was born on Feb. 5, 1943, in Sioux City, the son of Edward and Ruby (Baird) Weaver. He attended country school and Moville High School.
Dennis married Judy Zediker on Nov. 3, 1962, in Moville. The couple made their home in Sioux City for a short time before returning to Moville, where they remained since. Dennis farmed on the family farm his entire life.
He was a member of the NRA, was a past Boy Scout leader and 4-H (Arlington Future Farmers) leader. Dennis loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He hunted elk for more than 30 years in the Big Horn Mountains.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Weaver of Moville; four children, Michael (Joni) Weaver of Moville, Michelle (Brian) Johnson of Grain Valley, Mo., Misty (Scott) Dean of Moville, and Toni Weaver of Sioux City; seven grandchildren, Tyler Weaver, Trey Weaver, Micayla Weaver, Madison (Nate) Eikmeier, Ben (Cauren) Johnson, Jacob Dean and Sara (Aaron) Corley; two great-grandchildren, Lilyanna and Abran; three brothers, Tim (Nancy) Weaver of Moville, Pat (Terri) Weaver of Moville, and Kelly (Susanne) Weaver of Moville; mother-in-law, Eunice Zediker of Sioux City; three brothers-in-law, Avery (Kay) Zediker of Sioux City, Arnold (Phyllis) Zediker of Des Moines, and Steve (Nancy) Zediker of Sioux City; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Michael Weaver.
