Diana J. Hattermann

Diana Jo Hattermann, 68, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015, at Touchstone Living Center.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Morningside Lutheran Church. The Rev. Paul Andell will officiate. Burial of ashes will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Germantown, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Diana was born on June 23, 1947, in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Dorothy (Brevard) Holmes. She was raised in Boone and graduated from Boone High School in 1965. Diana attended Morningside College and Iowa State University. She also earned her L.P.N. at Western Iowa Tech Community College.
Diana married Donald Lee Hattermann on April 25, 1970, in Boone. After their marriage, the couple settled south of Germantown, where they farmed for many years. Diana worked at several nursing home in the Paullina, Iowa area. Donald died on July 17, 2009 in Marion, Ind.
She was member of St. John Lutheran church in Germantown and after moving to Sioux City in 2009 she joined Morningside Lutheran Church. Diana loved sewing, doing crafts and working in her garden.
She is survived by her three children, Matthew and his wife, Stacey of South Sioux City, Mark and his fianceé, Sara Johnson of Sioux City, and, Melanie and her husband, Jeff Zogg of Ankeny, Iowa; five grandchildren, Brandon Johnson, Andrew and Madison Hattermann , Autumn and Anya Zogg; her brother, Thomas "Beefy" and Joyce Holmes of Ogden, Iowa; and her sister, Ila and Rick Daniels of Boone.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and her parents.
