Dionne L. “Dee” Dyson, 87, died Thursday, January 25, 2018, at Sunrise Retirement Community in Sioux City, IA.
A memorial service will be 10:30 am Friday, February 2, 2018, at Christy-Smith Funeral Home, Morningside, with visitation one hour prior.
Dionne Lydia “Dee” Kuta, the daughter of James and Lydia (Allard) Kuta was born February 1, 1930, in Sioux City, IA. She grew up in the Riverside area of Sioux City and attended Sioux City schools.
In 1948, Dee was united in marriage with Marion “Jay” Loving. They had one son, Patrick. They later divorced. Dee was employed at the Johnson Biscuit Company for around 17 years.
After a move to Reno, NV, Dee was united in marriage to Vern W. Dyson. She worked for Lynch Communications Systems building telephone components. Together they enjoyed camping, boating and fishing in all the mountain streams and lakes in that part of the country. Vern died September 4, 2008.
Dee returned to Iowa a few years after Vern’s death to be closer to her son, Pat and his family.
Dee is survived by her son, Patrick F. (Jane) Loving of Sioux City; two grandchildren, Adam Loving of Sumter, SC and Michael (Jennifer) Loving of Lawton, IA; four great-grandchildren, Payton, Tallon, Collin, and Kason Loving; a brother, James Kuta of Reno, NV; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and four sisters and their husbands, Gloria and Art Turgeon, Norma and Harold Bristol, Mona and Barney Rush and Lorraine Kuta.
