Dolores Ardyth Chinn (Bagenstos)

Sioux City - Dolores A. Chinn, 84, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at Sunrise Manor Retirement Home.
Memorial Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Jay Denne will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Dolores was born on Dec. 18, 1927, in Holstein, Iowa, the daughter of Lester and Clara (Seglem) Bagentos. She graduated from Holstein High School. She then attended Cornell College for one year and then went to N.B.T. in Sioux City.
On Dec. 3, 1955, she married George Edmond Chinn in Sioux City. Dolores worked for Burke Engineering Co. and Iowa Pork Industries.
Dolores was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, working puzzles, playing Bingo and helping others at Sunrise Manor. She will be missed by all the staff at Sunrise Manor.
She is survived by her children, Jeffrey Chinn and his best friend, Sherri of Ankeny, Iowa, Dennis Chinn of Le Mars, Iowa, and Dana Nelson and her fiance, Jerry of Hornick; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three sisters-in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Craig in September 2011; her son-in-law, Paul "Shorty" who died in 2004; and her brothers and sister.
