Dolores D. Koehler, 87, of Moville passed away Friday, May 20, 2016, at Char-Mac Assisted Living.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville. The Rev. Barbara Spaulding will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Moville.
Dolores was born on July 13, 1928, in Moville, Iowa, to Bernhart and Emma (Wieck) Keuck. She graduated from Bronson High School in 1946.
Dolores was united in marriage to Orman Koehler on Oct. 5, 1952, in Moville. Orman and Dolores lived and farmed near Moville. In 1983 they left the farm and moved into Moville. She worked as a unit secretary for St. Luke’s Hospital for 15 years before retiring in 1992. Orman died on Oct. 3, 2007, in Remsen, Iowa.
Dolores attended Trinity Lutheran Church and was a very active member. She enjoyed talking for hours on the phone to her sister, Lucille, shopping with her sisters, going to the senior center in Moville, laughing with her family, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory include her son, Alan (Kim) Koehler of Moville; daughter, Lanette (Brian Utesch) Koehler of Cottage Grove, Minn.; and five grandchildren, Joshua (Amy) Koehler and their three children, Brylee, Wesley and Ryker; Gordon (Jessica) Koehler; Chase (Chris) Koehler and their four children, Jacob, Caleb, Alexa and Thomas; Mackenzie (Adam) Koehler; and Claire Utesch.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a great-grandson, Christian; sisters, Edna Spink, Elsie Bottjen and Lucille Rippke; and brothers, Fred, Herman, Leonard and Vernon Keuck.
