Don Gregory Hair

Don G. Hair, age 55, of Sioux City passed away Friday, October 15, 2021, at Westwood Specialty Care in Sioux City.

Public visitation will be 1:00-4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel located at 1801 Morningside Ave. Sioux City, IA. The family requests that guests wear their favorite football attire.

Don Gregory Hair, the son of Nancy Jorgensen Hair, was born May 23, 1966, in Iowa City, IA. He grew up in Sioux City and attended Sioux City Community Schools.

Donny married Kris Blackford and to this union were born 3 sons: Nate, Josh, and Alex. Although they later divorced, Donny and Kris remained friends and continued to care deeply about each other.

Donny worked for various businesses throughout Sioux City including Cloverleaf Cold Storage, Old Home Bakery, and Palmer Candy Co. He then worked independently remodeling homes and doing farm work.

Donny enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a diehard Kansas City Chiefs fan. He enjoyed weekend family get- togethers, playing a variety of games with family, especially cribbage with his sons, and watching football with family.

Donny is loved by many people and is survived by his siblings, Robin Hair, Debbie (Denny) Eberly, Scott (Teresa) Hair; sons, Nate, Josh, and Alex Hair; grandson, Daniel Hair; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dale and Vicki Eberly; ex wife Kris and her mom, Kay Gunsolly, with numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends including his lifelong friend, Bruce (Jill) Miller.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Marlow (Elvina) and Gladys Jorgensen; brother, Terry Lee; nephew, Dennis “DJ” Eberly; and uncle, Gary Jorgenson.

Donny’s family would like to thank the staff at MercyOne ICU and the nursing staff at Westwood Specialty Care for their exceptional care and support.
