Donald Richard Beacom

SIOUX CITY -- Donald Richard Beacom, 60, of Sioux City died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Larkin Northside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Don was born Nov. 20, 1948, in Sioux City, the son of Henry and Ruby (Berg) Beacom. He was raised in Sioux City and graduated from Heelan High School in 1967. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1968 and served for 17 years. He returned to Sioux City in 1988, where he worked for Bush Cleaners and Westwood Nursing Home. He retired in 2009 due to poor health.
Survivors include his sister and her husband, Marilyn and Charles Whitson of Jenks, Okla.; and five brothers, Henry and Roxann of Lakeland, Fla., Thomas of Sioux City, Mark of Sioux City, Jim and Deb of McCook Lake, S.D., and Robert of Sioux City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Patrick; and a niece, Jill Beacom.
