SIOUX CITY | Don Carman Sr., 75, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012, at his residence, surrounded by his loved ones.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery, Emerson, Neb. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Don was born March 13, 1937, in Wakefield, Neb., to Joseph and Mary (Cole) Carman. He was raised in Emerson, Neb., and lived there until he joined the U.S. Army in 1954.
Don married Lorraine Fetterman on June 5, 1961, in Pipestone, Minn. The two lived in Siouxland for more than 50 years. Don drove semis for over 50 years.
He enjoyed frequenting "The Horizon," going to rummage and garage sales and just plain negotiating with people in general.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Carman; sons, Don and Tricia Carman and Clay Carman; daughters, Crisie and Rusty Bathurst and Tami and Jason Nelson; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother , Chuck and Janice Carman; and a sister, Louise Rich.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and three sisters.
