SIOUX CITY -- Donald Raymond Huser, 85, of Sioux City died Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mark Lutheran Church, with the Rev. John Hagberg officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m. and a prayer service at 6 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent online to

Donald Raymond Huser was born Jan. 24, 1926, in Sioux City, the son of John and Sena (Jacobsen) Huser. He graduated from East High School in 1944. He joined the U.S. Navy after high school and was honorably discharged in 1946.
He married Barbara Peterson on Oct. 1, 1954. He worked as a carpenter and retired from W.A. Klinger in 1989.
Don was a charter member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Carpenter's Union Local 948 for more than 50 years. He enjoyed fishing and working in his garden.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Huser; a son, Michael Huser of Sioux City; a daughter, Beth Huser of Sioux City and Las Vegas, Nev.; a grandson, Christian (Huser) Emery of Las Vegas; and three brothers, Albert Huser of Sergeant Bluff, Arthur and Kay Huser of Sioux City and John Huser of Sioux City.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
