Donald L. Miille, 61, of Sioux City died Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at his home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Don was born on Sept. 8, 1952, in Sioux City, the son of Lawrence and Agnes (Tucker) Miille. He grew up in Sioux City and attended East High School.
Don married his high school sweetheart, Joan Dale Joy on June 9, 1972. They made their home in Sioux City. Don was a licensed plumber and certified welder. He worked very hard supporting his family. Don was forced into retirement in 1993 due to a back injury and in his later years he battled many health issues.
Don loved to fish walleye on the lakes of Minnesota, catfish in Missouri, mushroom hunting in the spring, duck hunting on the banks of the Missouri and barbequing and smoking meat.
Survivors include his wife of more than 41 years, Joan Miille of Sioux City; daughter, Tara and Scott Smith of Sioux City; son, Jim and Andrea Miille of Frisco, Texas; four grandchildren, Chloe and Preston Smith of Sioux City, and Evan and Carson Miille of Frisco; sister, Carol Miille of Sioux City; brother, Dick and Gayle Miille of Sioux City; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Merle Wharton and infant sister, Charlene.
