Donald Duane Roffman, 79, of Sioux City died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at a Sioux City hospital.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, 1801 Morningside Ave., with the Rev. Tom LoVan of Morningside Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. May 18 at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, Iowa. Don was born on April 21, 1934, in Postville, Iowa, the son of the late Otto Roffman and the late Cecelia (Regan) Roffman. He grew up on the family farm and attended school at Postville, graduating from Postville High. He entered the U.S. Army and served for two years. Upon his honorable discharge, he attended the University of Iowa in Iowa City, graduating with his BBA.
He married Georgean Kluss on June 22, 1958, in Monona, Iowa. Don worked as an insurance adjuster for various companies and also as an independent adjuster. He served as a troop leader for the Boy Scouts.
Surviving are his wife, Georgean of Sioux City; son, Matt Roffman of Sioux City; daughter, Audrey and Christopher Zehr of Washington, Iowa; two grandchildren, Ryan Zehr and Emily Zehr; brothers, Keith and Dorothy Roffman of Waukon, and John and Joellen Roffman of Postville; sister-in-law, Laura Mae Roffman of Postville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Roffman; and brother, Robert Roffman.
