Donna M. Ortt

Donna M. Ortt, 86, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Chapel of the Resurrection at Holy Spirit Retirement Home. Per her wishes, her body was donated to science. Arrangements are pending with Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Donna was born on Dec. 24, 1928, in St. Paul, Minn., the daughter of Orville and Adeline (Peltier) Ortt. Her family moved to Sioux City when she was a small child. Donna attended Blessed Sacrament Grade School and graduated from Cathedral High School. After high school, she joined the B.V.M. Sisters at Mount Carmel in Dubuque, Iowa, but had to leave after a few years due to poor health. Donna always remained close to the sisters. After returning to Sioux City, she worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for physicians' offices in Sioux City for more than 35 years.
Donna was very active at Blessed Sacrament Parish and volunteered many hours at the parish until just recently. She also made rosaries for many years
She is survived by two brothers, Jim and Christina of Altadena, Calif., and Larry of Twin Oaks, Mo.; three nieces and a nephew, Teresa, Annie, Angela, and Michael; and grandnieces and nephews, Sophia, Grace, Christian, Jack, Harrison, Olivia and Katie.
