SIOUX CITY -- Donna J. Ostrihonsky, 76, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at her home, with family present.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Merlin Schrad of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Anthon, Iowa. Visitation will be 3:30 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Donna was born on Oct. 29, 1933, in Anthon, Iowa, to Ernest and Emma (Jahn) Haring. She grew up and attended school in Anthon, graduating in 1952. After high school, she moved to Sioux City and had been a resident here ever since.

On April 19, 1958, she married Richard F. Ostrihonsky at St. Francis Catholic Church in Sioux City. Donna was employed with Wonder Bread Bakery as a driver for several years. She was also employed as a claims specialist for Job Service of Iowa for 24 years, retiring in 1993.

Donna assisted in registering voters on election day in Woodbury County. Her greatest loves in life were times spent with family, fishing, gardening, canning and taking care of her mother.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Richard, of Sioux City; a son, Joseph and Mary Ostrihonsky of Sioux City; three daughters, Rashelle Katseres and Bruce Barr of Sergeant Bluff, Ronnette Wohlfeil of Sun City, Fla., and Toni and Scott Dwyer of Sioux City; grandchildren, Katie and Shawn Sullivan of Stanton, Neb., Natalie, Mollie and Abbie Jo Ostrihonsky of Sioux City, Stefanie and Joe Bergsmith of Pierre, S.D., Alexis Katseres and Ken Sek of Sioux City, Richard Katseres of San Diego, Calif., Derek, Dalton and Dylan Dwyer of Sioux City, Cassie Kinchen of Hammond, La., Chase Kinchen of Vermillion, S.D., and Cody Wohlfeil of Sioux City; great-grandchildren, Kira, Ella and Wyatt Bergsmith of Pierre, S.D., Trinity Anderson and Molly Sek of Sioux City, Ethan Kinchen of Hammond, La., and Trista and Dusty Sullivan of Stanton, Neb.; her mother, Emma Haring, residing at Westwood Nursing Home in Sioux City; two brothers-in-law, Frank and Rhonda Ostrihonsky of Sioux City, and Don Conley of Fonda, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sons, James, Barton and Burton; her father; and a sister, Dolores Conley.

Memorials may be directed in her name to the Queen of Peace.
