Doris Knudsen

Doris V. Knudsen, 82, of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, at a local nursing home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trimble United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Martha Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Doris was born on July 20, 1934, in Maskell, Neb., to Jess Mann and Hazel (Eisley) Potts. She was united in marriage to Peter Knudsen Jr. in May of 1954. He preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 2002.
Doris worked as a seamstress for Aalfs Manufacturing for 23 1/2 years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of Trimble United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking and baking.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Lorrie (Randy) Crippen of Le Mars, Iowa, and Barry (Nancy) Knudsen of Sioux City; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Clifford (Dolly) Mann of Sioux City.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Eugene Mann and Richard Mann; and sister, Shirley Ferris.
