Doris Jane Skinner, age 92, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2022, in Cody, Wyoming.
Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2022, at Graceland Cemetery. Christy-Smith Funeral Home, Morningside Chapel is assisting the family with services.
Doris was born March 24, 1930, in Bloomfield, Nebraska, the daughter of Carl and Ruth Henkel. Early in her childhood her family moved to Sioux City, Iowa.
She married Roy Edward Skinner of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, on January 29, 1954. They moved to Santa Monica, California, on November 14, 1954. She worked at Robb Ross and Johnson Biscuit Co. and later at Wincharger/Zenith in Sioux City. She worked in electronics her remaining years. Her last place of employment was for Cinema Products Corp. in Los Angeles, California for 27 years. She retired on April 30, 1999, at age 69. She lived in Santa Monica, California from November 19, 1954, until she moved to Cody, Wyoming to be near family on June 19, 2015.
She loved country music and reading, keeping up with news, book puzzles, and solitaire.
She is survived by four stepchildren, Roy E Skinner of Cody, Wyoming, Steve Skinner of Meeteetse, Wyoming, Carl Skinner of Cody, Wyoming, Gloria Skinner Potts of Clarkston, Washington, 20 step grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 13 nephews, 8 nieces.
She is preceded in death by her husband, both parents, and eight siblings.
