Dorman E. KuyKendall, 89, of Apple Valley, Minn., formerly of Sioux City, died Thursday, March 20, 2008, at Fairview Ridge Hospital in Burnsville, Minn.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel in Sioux City, with Pastor Dan Doran officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to

Dorman was born April 17, 1918, at Criders, Va., the son of Ernest and Mary (Spitzer) KuyKendall. He was stationed with the U.S. Army Air Corps in Sioux City during World War II, when he met the love of his life, Bonnie Longstreth of Sergeant Bluff.
They married and raised a family in Sioux City and were owners of the Town & Country Motel on Court Street. Dorman and Bonnie celebrated 64 years of marriage on Feb. 6, 2008.
Dorman will be missed by family and friends and remembered for his outgoing nature, love of life, smile and welcoming way to everyone. He cherished his family and loved the Lord.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie of Lakeville, Minn.; a daughter and her husband, Mary and Michael Abelson of Lakeville, Minn.; a son and his wife, Larry and Gayle KuyKendall of Kimberling City, Mo.; grandchildren, Kimberly Andersen, Dr. Michelle Abelson and husband, Brian Gryniewski; Mollie and Chad Erickson, Larry and Elizabeth KuyKendall, Amy and Guy Warnecke Jr. and David KuyKendall; seven great-grandchildren, Allison and Logan Abelson, Adam and Christian Warnecke, Ethan Gryniewski, Sydni and Garrett Erickson; and brothers, William "Bill" KuyKendall, Stanley (Elaine) KuyKendall, Julius "Ray" KuyKendall, Thomas "Tom" KuyKendall and Ernest KuyKendall.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Edward KuyKendall; two brothers, Paul and Hayes KuyKendall; and two sisters, Leoda Gribble and Juanita Snotts.
