SIOUX CITY -- Dorothy Theresa Grimoskas, 88, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at her daughter's residence.
Private family graveside services will be held in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Dorothy was born Aug. 10, 1921, in Sioux City, to Thomas and Mary Tymkowicz. She was orphaned at the age of four and was placed in St. Anthony's Orphanage until taken in by foster parents at the age of 13.
She married Frank J. Grimoskas on Jan. 14, 1939, at St. Casmir's Church, where she was a member until its closing. Frank passed away Jan. 14, 1989.
She is survived by two sons, Frank Grimoskas Jr. and his special friend Cynthia Erikson of Metairie, La., and Joseph Grimoskas and his wife Maralyn of Sioux City; a daughter, Patricia Grimoskas of Sioux City; two grandsons, Curt Grimoskas of West Chester, Ohio, and Thomas Grimoskas of West Columbia, S.C.; a great-granddaughter, Hailey Grimoskas of West Columbia; a nephew, James Tymkowicz and his wife, Dee Dee of Sioux City; and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers, Mike and John Tymkowicz; and three sisters, Elsie Sencenbaugh, Estelle Thompson and Julia Occhipinti.
