SIOUX CITY -- Dorothy B. Lease, 95, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dan Lozer of Mayflower Congregational United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be noon until service time today at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to christysmith.com.
Dorothy was born Sept. 6, 1914, in Westfield, Iowa, the daughter of Ted and Lyda (Lawrence) McDougall. She was raised in the Westfield area and graduated from Westfield High School. After a few years, she moved to Sioux City and had lived here since.
She started work as a counter waitress at Woolworth's 5 & 10. She later worked for more than 30 years at Johnson Biscuit Co. (Interbake Food). She retired in 1983.
Her love in life was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, John Lease and his wife, Nancy of Dubuque, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Sharyne Lease of Sioux City; four grandchildren, Darcy (Jon) Gubrud, James (Shelby) Lease, Jennifer (Eric) Mond and Amber (Brian) Bricker; seven great-grandchildren, Kathryn Gubrud, Trae Barry, Kendrick Lease, Madison Mond, McKenna, Cale and Arianna Bricker; two sisters, Viola Lilly and Martha Burke, both of Akron, Iowa; and two brothers, Robert McDougall and his wife, Betty of Sergeant Bluff and Donald McDougall of Tucson, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Paul; a grandson, Scott; and a sister, Gilberta Olson.
