SIOUX CITY -- Dorothy Mae Ream, 86, a longtime resident of Sioux City, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, of natural causes.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Dorothy was born May 23, 1925, on a farm in Climbing Hill, Iowa, to Reuben and Pearl Tague. Her family later moved to Plymouth County, Iowa, where she attended rural school. She moved to Sioux City in 1940.
She married Ollie Ream on March 30, 1946. She wore many hats throughout her working life. She was an Avon salesperson for more than 50 years.
Dorothy had a very full life, a caregiver by nature. She enjoyed cooking and sharing her time and talents with others. She was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Sandra and Mark Collins of Altadena, Calif., and Julie and Joe Feeley of Dayton, Wyo.; two granddaughters and their families, Tracy and Malko Malko and sons, Peter and Nathan of Redlands, Calif., and Jean Ballhorn of Loveland, Colo.; a sister, Betty Stuart of Salem, Ark.; a brother, Clifford Tague; and a sister, Mary Cain, both of the Sioux City area.
She was preceded in death by her parents; several brothers and sisters; and her loving husband.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Grace United Methodist Church.
