Dorothy D. Stevens, 91, of Sioux City, died Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Westwood Specialty Care in Sioux City.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Dorothy Darlene Stevens, the daughter of Garrett and Harriet (Dewall) Hoekman was born Nov. 20, 1925, in Platte, S.D. She graduated from Platte High School in 1943.
On April 27, 1944, Dorothy was united in marriage with Roy Edward Stevens in Sioux City. She was employed at Davenport Cleaners. Dorothy was primarily a homemaker, but she did work at Roe Dairy and also served coffee and doughnuts at Sunshine. Roy died March 20, 1997.
Dorothy was a member of Whitfield United Methodist Church. She enjoyed working on word searches and reading.
Dorothy is survived by her children, LeRoy (Ellen) Stevens of Storm Lake, Iowa, Charles (Lorraine) Stevens of Washington, Utah, Clyde (Susan) Stevens of Sioux City, Keith Stevens of Sioux City, and Rita (Gerald) Reistroffer of Sioux City; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy; a grandson, Shane; and a granddaughter, Michelle.
