SIOUX CITY -- Douglas R. Cripps, 61, of Sioux City died Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tess Panamarow officiating.
Doug was born on Aug. 2, 1950, in Sioux City, the son of Walter and Yvonne (Cormany) Cripps. He graduated from Central High School in 1968. Doug continued his education at Westmar College in Le Mars, Iowa, South Dakota State University and Columbia Collegian in Chicago. Over the years, he worked at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center with security, Gateway, Olympic Village and MCI in sales.
Doug was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed martial arts, photography, writing, hunting, fishing and shooting.
Survivors include a brother, Mark and Sandy Cripps of Sioux City; three cousins, Greg and Shirley Cormany of Sioux City, Jackie and Barry Murtha of Kansas City, Mo., and Patty and Earl Myers of Le Mars, Iowa; and a nephew, Russell Cripps of Denver, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
