Douglas Wayne Snyder, 59, of Sioux City, Iowa, died on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at MercyOne Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel located at 1801 Morningside Ave., Sioux City, Iowa, 51106.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Ave., Sioux City, Iowa.

Doug was born October 24, 1965, in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Willard A. Snyder and the late Shirley Mae (Anderson) Snyder. He grew up in Sioux City and attended Sioux City Community Schools graduating from North High School in 1984. He went on to attend Wayne State College for a few years and later attended Stewart School of Hair Styling. Doug worked for Mercy Medical in the custodial department for a few years before becoming employed with the Sioux City Community School District for the last twenty years. Currently, he was in the custodial department at East Middle School. 

His hobbies were gardening and going to the casino from time to time. 

Survivors include his father, Willard Snyder; brother, Mike Snyder of Muscatine, IA; life partner, Dennis Pastian; two aunts; one uncle; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley; maternal grandparents; paternal grandparents; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
